Geothermal resource exploitation

  • about project

Geothermal energy is a natural, environmentally friendly renewable resource that can be used for electricity generation, heating, cooling and can effectively replace oil, gas and coal. This heat can be achieved with the help of wells. The temperature in the well rises by an average of 33.8 °F every 1417 inches. The resource comes to the surface in the form of steam or hot water. Oilfield water, also known as oilfield wastewater, is water extracted along with oil from production wells. Reservoirs of hydrocarbons are usually located in the earth's crust, and at great depths the temperature rises, and therefore thermal conductivity leads to relatively high reservoir temperatures. Moving along with oil, water in oil fields accumulates a large amount of heat. The temperature of the produced water in the field usually exceeds 104 °F, which represents a huge amount of thermal energy.

  • mission

Del Mar Energy develops geothermal energy sources based on its own technologies, starting with the exploration of promising sources through digitalization and building a 3D model of the facility, ending with the construction of related infrastructure for geothermal energy processing plants.

  • strategy

Since 2017, Del Mar Energy has been carrying out work on the exploration of sources, the design and construction of geothermal power plants. As a general contractor, Del Mar Energy has implemented more than 15 projects in 5 countries around the world. The exploitation and use of existing geothermal resources of oil fields can not only replace oil, gas, coal and other fossil fuels, but also provide a new way to diversify the economy of oil fields and their future development.

Investment analysis

The advantages of geothermal energy are that it is more environmentally friendly compared to traditional fuels such as coal and other fossil fuels. It is a renewable resource that will be available as heat reserves are replenished naturally, and it is both renewable and sustainable. Compared to other renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, geothermal energy provides a constant supply of energy. It does not require fuel, as geothermal energy is a natural resource, unlike fossil fuels, which are finite resources and must be extracted from the ground in another way. Geothermal energy is currently the subject of extensive research, which means the development of new technologies aimed at improving the energy process. Geothermal energy requires much lower installation and maintenance costs, and equipment that is used in facilities consumes 25-30% less electricity for heating and cooling than traditional heating and cooling systems.
