In 2011, Del Mar Energy adopted the fountain method of gas extraction, a technologically advanced and economically efficient technique for extracting natural gas from underground reservoirs. Unlike traditional methods, the fountain method leverages the natural pressure of the gas, significantly reducing operational costs and minimizing environmental impact.

The completion of Iowa HP-2 was a significant milestone for Del Mar Energy and the region.
